Question: Water Sports Question?
( Back )
Answer #1:
The windsurfing requires more strength in the learning stages. Joining a local sailing club will probably give you easy access to both activities and the opportunity to try out various craft without spending too much money in the early stages. The members will also be able to advise you on the competition levels in your locality.Sailing is probably a bit less taxing on your body for being active long term in the activities.
Answer #2:
Almost anyone can do both. I have taught 7 yearolds and have met other who have tought 70 yearolds windsurfing. I am reluctant to say ANY body of water because some are definately better than others. Windsurfing can be a very rewarding sport but races/clubs depend on where you live. However windsurfing it is difficult to learn, especially the older you get and can be taxing as a beginner. I would suggest sailing as a less expensive, easier, much more popular and accessable sport and therefore potentially a more enjoyable hobby.Which is better? Depends on what you want to get out and the time you wish to put into it. I teach both and potentially they can be just as enjoyable as each other, however sailing is much more popular.
