Gybes - Windsurfing Questions

Question #1:

Which is easiest? Windsurfing, Sailing or Kayaking?

So I have Year 12 Aquatics in a couple of weeks, and it's a major part of our assessment grade. However, I didn't go to Aquatics for Year 11 P.E & I have never done any of the activities we have to do! So i'm kind of freaking out. We have to choose only one. Which would be the easiest for a total beginner? Windsurfing, Sailing or Kayaking??? (I've watched them all on youtube and they alll look so difficult and confusing)

Thankyou!!

Question #2:

Proper windsurfing equipment?

Hi,
I am 20 years old i weight 85kg and i am 195cm tall.I have bought last summer new windsurfing equipment but in spite that i practice for 5 years i had a not so good teacher that learned me in 10 lessons how to plan and tack only. After that i learned by myself how to put the hook and how to beach start but it is hard to learn alone by yourself. So i think that my gear is not what i had to buy.
i bought a mistral synchro board 114 lt and a tushingham storm sail 5.75 and they feel very good but my problem i think is with the sail cause i dont have control and i dont have power sometimes(maybe wind conditions have to do with this too) and the hook.(i have a seat hook)so can anyone help me according to my size and weight what is the proper equipment i should have?

Question #3:

Do western women take their privileges for granted?

I recall reading a blog about an American woman staying in Japan for work. In it she said that her employer warned her that most western women leave after 2 months, whereas the Western men stay for years. Pretty soon she found out why. She had absolutely no dating life. The American guys she met over there that she was attracted to (of which only a few made the cut) totally ignored her after these Asian girls threw themselves at them night after night. Needless to say it really was a blow to her ego and it cast doubt on her desirability as well as the culture that enables it in the west.

She basically said that she grew contemptuous of a place that swayed the Western man's attention away with delights they could only dream of in the USA. All that she could do to get attention was work as a bar girl, which she refused, since in Japan white chicks are in higher demand as prostitutes. She kept insisting on a "relationship" and the ability to negotiate sex etc. with alpha males like in her college years. She met other western girls like herself who were alone and admitted they simply couldn't leverage compromises out of the Western men like they could in America. Part of the problem was that the Asian females were such supplicants to the men's desires that it made her demands appear restrictive, prudish and ridiculous, the other problem was that she wasn't attracted to the natives because they weren't classically handsome in a western way. (I think she expected to go over there and have it basically be like America, except with Asian food, while being carted around by a Caucasian windsurfing hunk.)

The Japanese men were either beneath her or if she was interested "too meek to proceed" (her words).

By the end of her tale she explained that she stayed there 9 months determined to prove to her employer that only the weak females left early and that she could make a life for herself. I'm glad she was candid in her emotions when she admitted that her life turned into a hollow routine of work, loneliness and depression. No one wanted her or to deal with her demands.

The advantages found in the West allowed her to be a glamorous nobody, have sex with a handsome guy on command and party all day. In Japan she was forced to contend with a sexual market value closer to reality. It was so hard for her to find a steady sex partner she was becoming suicidal. By the end she had gained weight, made few friends and became sullen and defeated. She couldn't wait to get out of there.

Reading the story it dawned on me that the woman in Asia got a taste of the dating experience for men in America. It almost parallels what I hear happen to men in Western nations. I mean flip it around and you find the same stale emotions being described by men whose options appear hampered by a female cartel asking for unrealistic partners. Except whereas in Asia white girls lament the casual sex given to their choice males, in the US all the men lament that relationships and marriage are the only way to get sex from a pool of icy witches.

Question #4:

Outdoor adventure society slogan?

My friend and I are starting an adventure society at our college and we needed ideas of a slogan or a motto. looking for something catchy. We're into trekking, snorkeling, windsurfing, offroading, rock climbing. Any ideas?

Question #5:

How hard and how long will it take to learn windsurfing by myself?

I'm an intermediate surfer who's been surfing for just about a year (but nearly everyday). I'm 25, 177cm and 75kg, surf on a 5'10 hybrid and a 6'4 standard shortboard. I'm also keen on 3-4 meter outside waves and feel like home every time I paddle out in the sea. I've been on the Gold Coast for one year and haven't seen any windsurfing school. There're many kitesurfers here on windy days (>30 knots) but it doesn't look like my thing.

I have two goals: to be able to sail along the coast when it's really windy, and to charge huge waves. So, do you recommend buying windsurfing gears and starting to learn by myself? If so, what should I get for the early stage?
I also learned to surf by myself and on a shortboard. I surf at least three hours each session.

Question #9:

When is the best time of year to recreational windsurf Okinawa?

It will be my first time to Okinawa, where my grandfather was born and raised. He later moved to Hawaii for work and that's where I was born. I love windsurfing and was at an advanced level but have not done any for so long, I'm interested in having fun as well as looking into my heritage on my mother's side of the family while I am there.

Any suggestions as to best time of year weather-wise, inexpensive, safe, clean places to stay (single), availability of rental equipment (to windsurf), vegan eating tips, things to see and do, best ways to get around, and language tips would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo.

Question #10:

Is a formula-class windsurfer a good choice?

I'm 42. When I was 16, I used to windsurf avidly. Back in the days when the mast step fit into a slot in the board. . . and with each passing week you had to wrap another layer of duct-tape to the mast stem so that it would fit.

Anyway, I haven't windsurfed, since. I still love sailing and race a catamaran, but I think I'm ready to get back into windsurfing.

I live near Annapolis. The wind isn't all that great, despite that this is called the "sailing capital of the world". This is why I have shy'd away from wind-surfing. However, I recently caught a glimpse of the Formula class windsurfer and am very intrigued. It looks like it would be a good choice for a 210 pounder that sails in moderate wind.

I don't know much about them, but they look like they suit my needs perfectly. Are there other board designs that plane as quickly and work as well in light to moderate wind?

Question #11:

The answer is 0.64. However, I don't know what you need to find this. All I have so far is:

Question #16:

People keep telling me I'm so pretty and beautiful and amazing and gorgeous and all that, but I'm so shy?!?

I've always had compliments about my looks and personality, but I feel like I'm not good enough. It's like, I'm not loud& outgoing & confident enough. I think it's because when I was 12 and new in school I was bullied by some girls who were jealous of the fact that the cutest guy liked me. Until then I used to be so confident but those girls took away all of it. I started gaining A LOT of weight, wearing glasses, my hair for some reason got all messy and wouldnt stay in place, etc...

Now I'm 16 years old, and this is how I look:

- 168 cm
- 60 kilos
- Straight/ wavy, long and light brown hair
- Really pale skin
- Big dark brown eyes, long eyelashes
- Toned but really curvy
- Small waist, 34C breasts, round butt, flat stomach, relatively slender legs but thigh fat
- A small ski jump-ish nose and a small mouth

I also get good grades and have a lot of friends. I play tennis, I'm a former volleyball player (I quit because of that confidence loss), do windsurfing and play the classical guitar but I'm not serious about any of them which makes me think I'm useless.

I've only had one boyfriend (Guys who liked me were always the guys who had mental issues or I didnt have the balls so I lost my chances) and he manipulated and pressured me for things I didnt want to do. I really liked this other guy and he chose his ex over me after getting my hopes up. So many people have told me I look so unreachable. I just feel like this useless stupid hoe who doesn't know anything and isn't good enough.

I don't know what I'm asking for... Any opinion would be appreciated. Thank you....
