Today I decided to venture out to a place I have never been to before, Rutland Water. This is a huge reservoir in the middle of England. All kinds of water sports are undertaken here and there is plenty of room for conservation and bird watching too! The forecast had been for a bright start to the day with some rain and wind later. So there you have it, we forgot to tell God we wanted sun and fun and instead got rain and mud! But we had fun! This is a great place to visit, for a daily charge of £3.00 you can park at any of the Anglian Water reservoirs car parks for that day. This means keeping your ticket and moving around. The Bird Watching Centre charges you £4.00 for a daily permit which entitles you to park 'free' on its 2 car parks at Rutland, but you need the permit to go birding so buy one! The wind and rain fair beat me to a pulp but I was not leaving without a few photos of the windsurfing and sailing so here they are.
